I will never understand why someone runs in a party that they have no alignment to. Well outside of a selfish desire to keep power.
Jerry Zimmerer is a politician through and through. He has run as a republican three different times, in 1994, and twice in 1996. He’s donated heavily to GOP causes as well.
That was in the past. He ran as a democrat recently, so all is well. People change, heck I’ve changed.
Well.. except recently he has sided with republicans on the bench instead of democrats. Most notably :
In Nguyen v. South by Southwest, Don Wade v Household Finance Copr. III, and Suzanne Elizabeth Wexler v The State of Texas.
In these cases Zimmerer is seen to protect corporate interests, and in the case of Wexler vs Texas he sided with officers that refused to read Miranda rights to a woman that was detained.
Zimmerer also voted in Republican primaries until 2014, when the changing demographics proved that running as a democrat would be a “winning” choice for him.
All of this is a matter of public record, his horrible rulings, his past support of the GOP.
He’s an opportunist. Don’t believe empty rhetoric, look at his actions.
